Heinz Salad Cream Campaign
First 10 Frames Complete!
I decided to opt for the initial style put forward and began to generate the frames using Photoshop.
Using Layers and changing the opacity of the top layer, this allows you to see through to the frame below and effectively trace with the brush tool.
I have filled the background colour and textured the character’s clothing as done previously!
Once into the flow of the animation, I was creating a frame every 10/15 minutes, which is not too time consuming for the generation of a reasonably detailed animation.
THIS WILL STILL TAKE A LONG TIME!!

Group Seminar

During a group tutorial/seminar, we were asked to present our findings/ideas so far and to was suggested to me to use a graphics tablet to speed up the drawing process.

This devise allows you to draw onto the screen using a digital pen, this I can rent from the university

First experiment, using 54 frames to create 7 seconds of footage, this process is very time consuming. I plan to extend the animation so that the red dot fades into a persons eye and they walk along a path.

As the website is only a design, we do not upload onto the internet, so there is no link, here is the final layout of our campaign site in image form

This was our original diagram when planning the structure of our website, it simply displays the basic layout of our site

Our Presentation

As part of the brief, our group planned and displayed a short presentation to our peers and lecturers to explain how our progress and ideas related to our demographic and brief. How we would ultimately promote the website was another aspect in which needed illustrating.

FEEDBACK for website

Positives

  •  very detailed
  • strong advertisement ideas
  • colour schemes/font complement the demographic and branding
  • Good games/apps concept
  • overall clean and clear appearance

Negatives

  • maybe too simple, no technically challenging aspects to the website
  • one of the pages did not show during the presentation

This is our final homepage design, the issue with the previous site was that there was no navigation bar to direct the viewer back to the homepage or other pages, this boarder is constant throughout all of our pages as a pathway around our site.

The use of negative space demonstrates the clean and simple appearance displayed by websites previously evaluated such as gotmilk.com

This is the initial design for our homepage, designed by Bonnie using Photoshop to layer several layers together; the background using greens that complement the product and hold continuity with the salad cream bottles

The final recipe page is completed for the site, we will now collaborate the individual pages we have created and link them together using dreamweaver and fireworks with a homepage. We have ensured that we have been using the same colour schemes and fonts for continuity throughout the website.
